Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai is the first Ramsar site of the UAE. The site is recognized as the Wetland Ecological Reserve by UNESCO . It is the stopover point and final destination for many migratory birds in the winter season. Of course, it is the nesting, roosting and breeding site for many endemic and migratory birds. In general view, people know it as the place for Flamingoes because they are the only birds can be seen from distance roadside. This is what I believed until the finding of what exist in the site. In fact, the number and the species of birds are very high than anyone would have thought. This is one of the must visit destinations in Dubai, especially for bird lovers. The book on birds and binoculars are available in the hide.

There are three hides in Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary.
Free entry for public.
Opening hours: 7:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday to Thursday (Friday remains closed)
